Siemens 6520 speedstream and intel 5100 agn wifi card.

    Good day,

Seeking some advice. I successfully set up a Siemens 6520 speedstream modem and have internet service. I have gone through the "Wireless wizard" and set it up using WPA-PSK TKIP security.

When I move to my Toshiba lap top in another room, with strong signal, I get asked for a "network security key". I type this in as asked and get told it is incorrect. I know it is not as I go back to the wireless wizard on the desktop PC to check.

The laptop has 32 bit Windows 7 and an Intel 5100 AGN wifi card.

Do I have to change a security setting on the Intel card?

What else could I be doing wrong?

    Regards.

Please follow the below instructions carefully to set your Siemens 6520 again:
    1. First of all, click on start and then go to run.
    2. After that type cmd, then click OK and then type ipconfig.
    3. Write down the gateway address 192.xxx.xxx.xxx
    4. Open internet explorer (or firefox) and enter the gateway address
    5. In my experience the gateway address is 192.168.254.254 which will load a configuration webpage
    6. In the upper right corner of this page it will say login or logout, if it says login After that click on the go button on the webpage not on the browser and enter admin for the password or whatever it might be. if you know it to be something different enter that, this will differ from isp to isp.
    7. Once you are logged into the modem you have to click on home networking and then advanced settings.
    8. After that configure speedstream wireless gateway network , or something like that it will be the only link saying anything about configuring wireless
    9. click next > click next > click next > i believe you should be looking @ your wep key
    10. Copy and paste it to notepad for safe keeping
