I am having a issue on with windows 7 and connecting to a share on a work group. The domain contains three windows xp computers and a single windows server 2000, All are on the same work group.

The server contains some shared folder, with the appropriate permissions for sharing and configured with "Everyone" option. The issue is being generated when I try to connect to the share, The username and password is entred but then after, it occurs the error as : I do not have permission to access the share?? Can anyone help me with this? Username & password are correct, it always worked fine on XP....

    Thanks.

There are some protocols configuration is occurring this error message, I have some suggestion to solve it can be helpful for you.

You need Install the Microsoft supported TCP/IP version 6 protocol on both of the machine. This would be completed after click on your LAN properties dialogue window. There may be some list of the installation type, I had set because already have a list of protocols ,I didn't have to go searching externally for it. Restart the computer system of both

However, I have a suggestion to set up your network again and it should work such whatever happened close to me. You need not to go online, just set up your home network and be sure the machine from the server and client side are having same workgroup name which is very important to get accessibility.

Now, turn off the firewall from both network means server and client while you are going to do this, it will just make it simple in the long run. After everything would be done, then turn back on the firewalls and test out your network.

A lot of users have your own choice and tried to suggest you the appropriate solution for that . I also have a fix for this issue and you can do this to change the workgroup name with a completely new name.

Just Restart the machine and then after you will get access the new workgroup. If you desire to retrieve the original workgroup, just change the workgroup name back to the one you had and reboot. This will fix your problem.

Click on the start menu and type secpol.msc in the search box. Browse to "Local Policies" => "Security Options".

Search the option as "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level" make double click to open it. Click on the dropdown menu and choose "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated". Now Apply the configured settings.

In the setting of Advanced sharing, Page of Network and sharing center, you need to have it set as Work/Home profile and follow some guidelines and try out this :

    -Enable network discovery
-Turn on file and print sharing
    -Turn off password protected sharing
-Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers

Another settings like encryption that I have set as use 128 bit encryption.
and check the related policies with the following way :

    1. Type “gpedit.msc” in the Start=>Search box.
    2. Browse “Computer Configuration”/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Settings.
    3. In the right pane, enable the following policies:

Network access: Allow anonymous SID/name translation
Network access: Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users
