Logitech quickcam e 3500 is not working with Windows 7 64 Bit

I just recently got the Logitech quickcam e 3500. I am facing some problems with it which i have decided to share this with you all. So basically the problem is that my webcam is not at all working with my windows 7 system. However one thing to note here is that it is running well with my sister’s laptop which runs on the vista operating system. The windows standard drivers which are there in my system are not helping me in the cause. I have tried with the clean booting of the system and also tried with the re installation of the cam that also proved futile to me. So what else should I try here? Can you all suggest me some solutions? If you have any good solution then do let me know about it.

I would advise you to have a proper check of the inf files in your system, check if the INF present in %windir%\inf? If they are then check if all the following that I am listing you here are present in your system.
    1 ks.inf
    2 usb.inf
    3 usbvideo.inf
    4 wdmaudio.inf
    5 wdma_usb.inf

do check if all the files are present there in the system, if they are then do let me know about it.

Yes i did have a check of all the listed files under the c:\windows\inf directory and all the files were being listed in the directory. So basically I have checked it and I don’t think that can be the main source of the problem. However one thing that I would like to add here is that I am able to see all the files that are being listed under the different category but I am unable to use them. The windows drivers does locks them up. So what conclusion can you make of it.

The quickcam that you have suggested here does works very well with the windows 7. As such blaming the operating system would not be a correct thing to do here. one thing that i would like to ask is that have you downloaded the correct software that is required for the quickcam from the logitech website, see if you are able to get anything out of it. Various software's are available for the windows 7 64 bit as well as the windows 7 32 bit. So do try having a look at it and let me know if you are able to get any solution out of it.

I did have a look at the various software downloads that are available and then I was able to find an appropriate link in a particular forum. So I did get the software downloaded from there and luckily I did get the exact solution for it. so thanks a lot for the efforts that you have taken here to help me out with the issue.
