File cannot be saved in Mac Office

What is the issue here with Mac Office? I have Microsoft Office 2011 with me and I have an issue regarding the way it is operating here. I have seen that it simply cannot save the Files on which I am working at the moment. Whenever I try to click on the Save option I have seen that it tells that the particular file cannot be saved as it is opened in some other location. Now in order to save the work that I have recently done; I have to use the option Save As. By making use of this it makes another copy of the document and then saves the extra work that is done on it. Well that is the case here and I would like to have some sort of solution in this case. Please come up with the things that can help us to get out of this situation here.

To start with I just want to ask; are you able to make the changes in the document that you have just save by using the Save As option; I mean to say in the new document are you able to make the changes after you save the file once or you are required to follow the same procedure here as well so that you can have your extra work saved here as well. Please come up with the answer for the question that I have asked so that we can have a closer look at the issue of yours.

Looking at the things that you have presented here I would like you to see for the Unix ID of the user. Please make a check on it and see if you can find out anything from there. Also I would like you to see if you have the Windows Server instead than see for the account that has the ownership of the file that is being shared on the System. Please check in the details there and I am sure that this will for sure come up with some sort of solution in the case of yours.

I have come across the issue but the scenario is such that this issue was seen in the Microsoft Office 2008. Well if you want you can give this solution a try and see if this works in the case of yours. Well some of the users that were experiencing this issues got it rectified by updating the Apple Software and if you have not done that then I would insists that you should go with the updates. Update the OS to the latest version of the OS X. In addition to the things that have been presented here I would also like to say that it will be great if you can see for the updates for Word also. You can do this by going in Help and then clicking on Check for updates in Word. See if this helps you in the situation with which you are stuck at the moment.

Thanks a lot for looking at the situation of mine. I wanted to let you know that the problem repeats when I shut down the system and in the mean time if I do not shut the system down and keep my self working with the newly created documents I can make the necessary changes and as many time as I want and that too without any issues; but the issue starts once I shut the system down and then try to make the changes. Also I will try to look for the suggestions that you have given above and will see if I can find some solution from this.

Have you heard about the Office 2011 updates that was released on this December of 17th. Please see if you can have that updates installed for the Office on the system of yours. Yes it is written that this updates has some kinds of patch that can help the Microsoft Outlook and that will avoid it from getting crashed , but I am of the opinion that this updates can help you with the case that you are stuck at the moment. Well try to have this update and see if you can get something from it.
