    Proper disk image for sharing.

I am trying to organize the disk image of the function for the distribution purpose. I have added my function and the alias to the function folder with the large icons. The background of the folder will advise the user for dragging the icon to the alias.

I have adjusted the icon and also changed the size of the folder before creating the image. But the problem is that when I am opening the disk, the icons are places at the top left corner, which is also in the alphabetical order, I do not want the disk image to change the format.

You just need to follow these simple steps.
First create the folder and then you need to create the disk image that is the read or write from the folder. Show the view option; select the window only, and after modifying the icon size. If you want hide the background image then you can do so with the help of SetFile. After that you need to Unmount the image with the finder window where you want to display it. You have to use the disk utility for converting the image to a compressed image.

I totally agree with the above reply, all the related information is mentioned there but I just want to add something to it. If you want to remove the Device and place the lists on the left hand side then you can do that by just clicking on the little button that is at the upper right side of the windows title bar.

As far as I know the file with the .dmg extension uses a proprietary disk image arrangement that will be commonly found on the Mac OS X. This format allows the user to do the file compression and also to protect the file using password protected and hence this server as both the file sharing functions and files security.

According to me .dmg file can be created easily and then using the utilities that included in the Mac OS X. DMG files are used by Disk utility and Disk copy in Mac OS X for burning CD and DVD. These files can also be used via command line by means of the “hdiutil” utility. Normally these DMG files are launched by MIME type of function.
