Decompress this, the extension .Cpgz stands for Compressed CPIO archives know - but already, what are you unpack, right?
For further enlightment you can use this

I hate open issues for this file, CPGZ files obtained eg if one ODF files (OpenOffice) rename zip in and wants to unpack it. The new archiving program "of Leopard can not handle it correctly. A Work around is simply another Packer to take. And I recommend "The Unarchiver" is what available and can replace the traditional "Stuffit Expander". If you need any more help regarding this topic and if you can share more info then please post back.

    Hello,
cpgz is a binary file archiver and a file format. The cpio software utility was designed as a tape archiver that was part of PWB / UNIX originally and was also part of UNIX System III and System V UNIX However, the use of homologous Research Unix, TAR, and freely available versions are widely regarded as a better solution. The use of the cpio package manager RPM continues to cpio archive format important.

I get an archive of someone with a PC. It is a ZIP. "Docx". I clicked: I created a file that looks like an archive and also the extension becomes: ". Docx.cpgz". From this archive is no way to get the document that is in, whenever I click on it recreated me another 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. What is the solution? I have tried the above solution which is being mentioned. Any other alternate solution will be great.

In fact *. docx format is a word document (*. doc) saved in XML format. The xml is a file format uncompressed. The XML has the advantage of being
readable with any software, even a simple text editor like TextEdit.

The cpio archive is similar in functionality to a tarball, and was designed to store backup copies on a tape drive on an ongoing basis. As the Tar format, CPIO archives are often compressed using gzip and distributed as files. CPGZ. Applying GNU cpio is a popular utility that can be used to add information in a cpio or tar archive. The application cpio is free software. CPGZ files can be created and extracted using "ditto," a program in command-line BSD Unix and Mac OS X, for example, the command "ditto-cz" creates a compressed CPIO archive.
