word infected with weird characters

Hello

Today I noticed that all my world files are infected by characters such as ¶. just want to know if it is a virus? or what? and how I can fix this problem? I am using World 2003 , please help me thanks in advance

On the Tools menu: click AutoCorrect Options, and then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab
Under Replace as You Type: select or clear the "Straight quotes" with "smart quotes" check box

Copy and Paste the contents into Microsoft Notepad then copy from Notepad and Paste back into a new Word Document

the character you show us is not an infection but simply the character shown when you're writing in Word. In the toolbar at the top click on Show / Hide to show/hide that character
