What is xlsb file format

Recently I got some files in mail in xlsb format. This file were attached in a email which contains some web information's. It does not seems to be a windows file. I want to know that to which program does this file format supports. I tried to open it but windows does not found any application for that. I think this is an XML file. But still I am not enough sure about this. Thanks in advance.

To an extent you are right. It belongs to the XML category. You can view it by Open XML. It is an new Microsoft Excel 2007 format. You can view it in Excel 2007. It you have a older version of office then this file will not open in your system. Normally it is a file which has a big amount of data and which is compressed. It can only be open in Excel 2007 and Open XML support.
