I love the O&O Defrag V6 Professional Edition, its the best Defragmenter ever. Defrag Pro knows a few ways to defrag your HDs. It can organize by name, date or access. You can control the maximum usage of the processor, defrag your bootfiles and pagefile.
I use Auslogics. Works well for me. Way better than the built in defrag tool. There is a registry defrag there too. Not sure how much it does, but I run that occasionally too.
Diskeeper is the best program for defragging your hard drive. More efficient defragmentation engines designed specifically for your operating system. Diskeeper invisibly and automatically maintains performance from that day forward. Performance is consistently maximized, hardware life is lengthened and costly upgrades and refreshes are delayed.
Best defragmenter IMO is Diskeeper 2009, so that's what I always recommend. I use the Professional version on XP, and have previously used it on Vista Home premium, and it works really well. The automatic background defrag feature is great, and the shadow copy compatible mode for vista is very useful. You can get free trial versions from their website http://www.diskeeper.com and use it for a month or so.
Oh thanks padukone for giving this information. I have also seen some reviews on some of the defragmentation softwares and in that Diskeeper scores good along with some others. I am thankful to you for informing about the free trial version of Diskeeper. I will try it and see how it works. Thanks to all other replies as well.
