    Hi,
Several Sony websites where you can download SonicStage. I got the 788 KB installer file from connect.com: http://musicstore.connect.com/. when you launch this it will go to Sony's servers to download the rest of the application. You should probably have your player plugged in when you run the installer, unless the instructions say not to. That way, the installer application can also download any drivers or software specific to your player.

From my experience, installation issues such as yours usually derived from two principal causes:
    1. Your system is preventing the installer from altering/editing the registry; or

    2. some modules are not found. Were you able to get pass OpenMG Secure Module during the installation process?

Here's a noteworthy note from MDCF member, A440 regarding the installation issue:
you could disable anything security related: antivirus, firewall, anti-spyware, etc. Norton, Kaspersky, Trend Micro, Black Ice, Aluria, Spyware Doctor, Microsoft Anti-Spyware, Spybot, Black Ice, Zonealarm, and a long etc.

Some start automatically when you boot up and keep going even after you disable them (like Black Ice Firewall), so before diabling anything you might:

Run: msconfig and look in the Startup Tab and uncheck anything security related.

That doesn't disable currently running programs--it prevents them from starting automatically after rebooting. (Norton's programs are under Symantec, BTW. Google program names that aren't obvious--ignore the sales pitches for WinTasks or whatever.) Unless all your startup items are currently checked, make a list of what you're unchecking so you can add them again next time around--their order will change. (If they are all checked, you can just recheck them all, of course.) APPLY, disconnect from internet and reboot with those items unchecked.

Then try the installer and see if something was getting in the way.

Run: msconfig again, recheck what you unchecked and reboot before going online again.

You can try non web installer and see if it works. Its handy when you have slow, or limited web access.
There is a full installer for the US Connect SonicStage 4.3 version here http://sonicstage.connect.com/SS-US.zip (88.4 Mb).

its strange as it sounds, but what i did was change the installation directory from C:\Program Files\Sony\SonicStage to D:\SonicStage
and guess what, it installed perfectly

Thanks anyways guys, really really appreciate it

    Re: SonicStage 4.3 issue

Now this is exactly what the doubt I had as mentioned in my (1) point.
Your system is preventing the installer from altering/editing the registry.
So changing the path must have made it for different registry key because of which the program could be installed. Well, I was not aware that the solution for this issue could have been so simple... and you found it yourself . Learned a new thing today
