What type of SSL certificate is installed on the Exchange box? If the SSL
cert being used in the Exchange OWA was obtained by a private CA (such as
your company's PKI), then it will fail.

ActiveSync only supports 6 certificate CA, sucha s Thwate, VeriSign,
Geotrust and a few more. Believe me, I went through this already... one of
my customers had an inexepensive SSL solution called InstantSSL. That failed
    too.

Only if you don't install the CA cert onto the pda. I issue my own certs
and just download the cert on the pda and install it which works just fine.

    i dont use cert.

    I believe ActiveSync requires certs.
(The error number is slightly different, but ActiveSync requires certs)

What emulator are you using? The one located here at this link? Maybe
there's something in the emulator to allow connectivity that in actual usage
is not working. Did you check the ports on your firewall being accessed that
I provided in my previous link?

Maybe the exchange setting issue. I met the same issue with you and the network packet shows that 404 error.

    Hi - this isn't a forum, it's usenet - and you've posted this as a reply to
a message no longer on the Microsoft servers (and haven't quoted the
original text in your reply). Hence, it's unlikely that the OP or anyone
will know what you're talking about.

I suggest you stop using the Techarena forums (which invariably lead to
these sorts of problems) and go directly to the source of these groups. Use
a news client, such as Forte Agent, Thunderbird, or even Outlook Express
instead. It's a lot easier to do nearly everything that way. You can mark
messages to be watched, filter the views so you can see replies to your
    posts easily, and search.

The Microsoft public news server is msnews.microsoft.com and you can
subscribe to as many groups as you like; no authentication is required.
