High rate of Frontier dropouts FrontierVille

I wasn't here during the beginning days of Farmville but I have been on FrV since day one. Was the rate of play quit as high in the first months of Farmville as it has been with Frontierville? It seems like I have to add at least 5 neighbors each week to keep a group of just 5to 10 active neighbors as they quit playing so fast. Is anybody else having this problem? Do you think it will level out as the game gets better or more fleshed out? I really am enjoying the neighbor aspect of this game so I'm hoping that it will get to the point that the neighbors stay longer.

I think people drop out because you need so many friends in order to play the game. If people don't have enough friends they just stop playing. 15 Neighbours is just too much for what should be a casual game. Zynga have go far too much down this route that they are beginning to make their games unplayable for all but the most active players. And that will begging to hurt the active players too. Not a good business model.

Well, some of my neighbors/friends whom I have talked to who were not actively playing said there was not enough energy and they got frustrated and another said she didn't understand it completely but when I explained how to get extra energy and to look in their inventory etc they are now active and enjoying the game. I believe for some people who are not so computer/game savvy they get discouraged to early and go on to play things that are less frustrating.

I am agree with you. Lots of them just get discouraged. It is quite different from other games. I haven’t noticed my neighbors leaving. I have over 100 of them now. It is great to have this much neighbors, so when I have time I visit all of them and get me lots of energy. The neighbors, I have lost were due to a lack of energy. They couldn't play long enough with the energy they had to hold their interest. I have had several others quit because of the computer resources required to play. They didn't have strong enough systems, and the game was not playable.

There is a fairly high dropout rate early on with the energy issues. It is simply overwhelming for many at first to see so much needing to be done and not able to do it. But, there is also a large dropout rate much later. Sadly, I am considering packing up my wagon and heading back to the coast myself. There actually comes a point in the game where although we have plenty of energy, we are simply stuck with nothing to do. It's these RNG (Random Number Generator) quests. We get stuck on one (or two at once like me) and simply can't advance. I'm on week 4 waiting for the welcome mat and just got another quest wanting me to get 2 of the rare items. I check my daily bonus from the buildings and I leave for the day. I used to keep the game open in its own browser tab at all times and pop back to do stuff off and on all day.
