Wifi not working with Ubuntu 11.4

I have lost regular access of wifi through the upgrade to 11.4 resting on my Celeron M laptop. It may be a network administrator, I do not know. I need some help. I have been unable to get help Ubuntuforums.org. This problem has persisted from time to time and in different forms at random for a few days, which indicates to me that the programming of 11.4 is very buggy if not unstable. Previously, the recipient (or network administrator) the icon was then a left click a menu of available networks, and right click, a menu of the network provided by the network configuration with the opportunity edit the connection. But still no success .please helps me. Thank you.

11.4 leave much to be desired. We did the same for me in my old laptop. ASUS I flipped through the cable plugged in and connected well. I leafed it running similar to that for 3 days. With many on-off switching’s. In the 4th day I turned and made sure it was connected. So while the team was on, I pulled the cable from the computer. I was still connected to the Internet. It maintains the connection until I got too tired of 11.04, and installed Lubuntu 10.10. The whole thing worked very well until I updated (instead of downloading the ISO file) to Lubuntu 11.04.

Hi thanks for your reply. Yesterday, the laptop connected to my wired network with the hope of an update that would do the hard work, and was not a problem getting in line that way except for the hassle of finding the plugs on and off the desktop and laptop connection and invest later. But at that time I also I have an arrow up / down arrow - that has not come back because no matter what I did - and as a side effect, the team found my wifi and neighbor wifi. I disconnected the cable and got in line for wifi then and then restarted, and was on the line very well. Then he went out, had lunch and went dead again. In fact, I got a list that included my wifi and wifi network from my neighbors, but then I was inexplicably cannot get any of them, including the uninsured, apparently with password issues.

Re: Wifi not working with Ubuntu 11.4

3x efforts to restart to get wireless going were a failure, with gray wireless connections, no networks are found, and no apparent place to go turn the network manager. A pair of times, my laptop schizzed out trying a variety of combinations of produce fresh network or connect unseen network, resulting within permanent hangs. There seems to have been a regression in functionality, my wifi worked well in the same system through 8.10 to 10.10, and is now broken. So the result is that everything that I can see the networks and get online works only infrequently and disconnectedly best. If wifi is not working for my laptop is a paperweight unless you use the Windows side of it.

Hello I am using same configuration however I did not misplace the internet connection, on the other hand, I did lose monitor appreciation and the most excellent I obtain was a 25% size monitor screen. I will attempt Lubuntu 11.04 for a second time, at what time I have it completely on disk. In anticipation of then I am running Lubuntu 10.10. It so far has given me complete speed and consistency. I will almost certainly retry Ubuntu another time through 11.10. But not until then.

Well, I have to admit that what the hell they did to everything related to Internet. I used to have to put Open DNS on my laptop to get decent speed. But despite that speed Natty 1) is never reached their potential, and 2) seems to be incompatible. First fast enough, then almost nonexistent. I know that's not really the problem, just thought I'd join the demonstration. I've never been able to get network manager to work and thought it worked with Natty; however after that you have the similar troubles. Always install and next uninstall Wicd Network Manager (and all related modules). I not at all had a difficulty through Wicd. YMMV.
