Before I suggest you something I just want you to make sure whether the wifi switch is turned on because there might be possibilities that it might has been turned off because of the hard reboot? And if you have checked it already and you are sure that it is then just type “ifconfig –a” without the quoyes and then just send me the output as a personal message so I can take a look at it and help you further with it.

I have checked it out previously it was showing Airplane mode on and wireless off when I had checked in the Airplane mode on and wireless off so I just turned on the wifi and then tried to see if it works or not but then I have found that it is not working and it appears as if it is off but after when I rebooted my machine and when I checked it again then I was not able to see the wifi icon in the settings as well. Anyways I have sent you the result that I have got for the, just take a look at it and see if you can help me out with this.

I have gone through the details that you have sent me and I have found that there is no wireless interface listed in your interfaces. I am just able to find the Ethernet and the loopback interface. I think that the hard reboot has caused some kind of problem with the kernel because of which the wifi has disappeared or the other possibility here is that the card might have stopped working. I will suggest you to do a test and find it out and for the same you can try to use an ubuntu live cd. Also send me the output of the “lspci“for further help.

I was having same problem with my dell e1505 and I will like to share that I used to get the same problem often. I will suggest you to just go to the network setting again and then turn off airplane mode and then turn on wifi and see if it is making any difference, it might take some minutes and you will also have to try a few times but then it should work out. I mean not that sure about it but then I had the same case and I had solved it by the solution that I have shared. Just check it out and then see if it is working or not. Best of luck.

I think that you should just try out blacklisting the acer_wmi module. I meant that you can just add “blacklist acer_wmi” as an entry in the /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf file and after that just save and exit and just make sure that you reboot and your physical switch is turned on as well. I think that this should probably solve your problem but if it does not then just try out the following command and then post the output for the same:
    sudo rfkill unblock all
