difference imap and pop mail

I am got confused with the two type of mail service...! so i was wondering that can anyone tell me the differences in between both the IMAP & POP Mail. because all of them give that they fave these facilities but don't explain the difference between the both....! So Please Help...!

If you are using a service from IMAP Mail or POP Mail which you don't know that what service you using then imagine it as you are using POP mail service. I mean this because if you don't know what service you using then the company might have given you the default service which is usually recommended as POP mail service.

Using IMAP to obtain to your mail box has advantages above POP3 and the difference of their working mechanism can be summarised in the next table :

POP Mail Service :
