Primary hard disk 1 not found

Hi,
I get the message "primary hard disk drive 1 not found, strick f1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility" When i turn on my computer. i have Dell System Dimension 8100. Anyone help?

You can try out some partition software like Partition Master, Partition Manager. You can easily add, edit, delete and manage the partitions in your computer by using partition software. It gives you total control of your system during the partition process. Also check the following threads:

When you start your computer, have a look in bios set up and make sure HDD 1 is set to "auto detect." Also check if the HDD1 is on or off. Turn it on if it is off.

Did you pressed F2 and made the corrections in the BIOS setup. Try to press F1 to skip the bios or memory check and check if you can boot.
If no results again, then check that you have configured the drives correctly. Set the Primary drive to Jumper set to 'Master' and the Secondary drive to jumper set to 'Slave', drive attached to middle connector of primary IDE cable.
