unable to install java programs in Nokia E71

I have recently purchased a Nokia E71 phone from mobile store. From few days I am trying to install java programs but I am not able to install java programs like Gmail, games and all. I don’t know what is wrong. How do I install java programs in my Nokia E71. My phone seems like its not supporting .jar extension files. Whenever I try to install any .jar file in it, the phone shows a message saying “unable to install”. RM-346 is the phone model number and 200.21.118 is the version. Please suggest me something.

I am using Nokia E71 mobile phone, I like playing games and surfing internet from the mobile phone so that the reason I had bought Nokia E71. When I tried to install java files it said the same thing and couldn’t be done. this phone does not support java programs like Gmail, Games, GPS etc. even it does not support JAR files, whenever I have tried to use JAR file it is showing “Unable to Install message” this is the problem with this phone I think.

Even I was having the same problem, you just need to do one thing, just check your application manager and settings look for software installation. Try to change and apply all setting and then try to install game again, try doing this at least twice or thrice. When I myself tried this, it really worked for me. I hope and I think this will work for you also.

Well I think try this. Go to Menu>>Tools>>Configuration then select show hidden files option and then check for show system files and folders option. May be there you will find the games or .jar files installed. If this is not working then I would recommend you to visit the official website, try googling and finally you will land up with some solutions for sure

Well if nothing is working then try for updating the phone with the latest firmware. This will surely solve your problem. Then I am sure you will be able to download all java files to your phone. I had tried doing the same thing and it luckily worked for me. If it doesn’t install even then, then I would recommend you to take the phone to the nearest nokia service center and ask the nokia people to help you out.

Let me tell you that there are some more solutions which you can search on official website of Nokia. Even I was having the same issue, when I was not able to install jar files, after that I found solution from website and I did follow those steps and I was able to install jar files in my cell phone, but now I am not able to trace suddenly why I am not able to use jar file? I have already done the setting for application is not to check for certificate verification then too it is not working for me, any other idea you have?

Well please ask the nokia customer support people to help you out. One thing you can try is to hard reset your phone. Press and hold the green button +red button +camera button for turning the phone on. Release all the buttons as soon as you se the Nokia logo on the display. But remember this will delete all your data’s from the phone. Then try installing java games. If you don’t want to lose your data then give your phone to the nokia people only.

I think you should try using Nokia PC Suite, right-click it and select ‘run as administrator’. If this doesn’t work then connect the phone as Mass Storage using the data cable, drag the Java files on to the memory card and try installing them from there. Remove the data cable from the phone and the computer. Try to install any .jar file. Hope this helps. Please also let me know after you try.
