How to tether Droid with Mac OS X using USB or wired

Last month I had purchased a droid mobile. This is a fantastic mobile. I use lot of application on this mobile. It speed is amazing. I like to much this mobile. PdaNet is a good option for batteries Bluetooth DUN tethering chewing, but its proprietary desktop application $ 30 is for Windows only cable tie. Where does this leave us OS X people who want a direct wired solution immobilization, or something open source? I tried Tetherbot + FoxyProxy, but that's only for Firefox and I could never get the DNS to properly resolve the connection through the phone. So I want to know how to tether droid mobile with the Mac OS X through USB or wired.

I want to tell you that I exchanged above to PDAnet. It sets up a legal IP address that is observable in the Mac Network first choices and they are given a workaround in the assist documents for the Cisco Virtual Private Network (VPN) (which is not sustained on the Droid mobile). For $16.99, I thought it was a excellent agreement. Thanks again for this thread. It was amusing to do some "BASHing" again. I even found to dirt off some old VI commands. But I think that you should do at least once.

Yes, it is attractive slow, but I got utilized to the pace. I utilized to travel 45 minutes every way on a train each day, and is utilized to attach my travelers. What I do is load a web page with lots of text first, once made, has direct access to my 10 or 12 sites visited, and re-read the site first loads while the other finishes. This almost did not expect at all. The key is to always have pages that are willing to read, while new pages are loaded. I tried to tie with a USB cable to my voyager, but I thought it was more a nuisance than it was worth it, especially with my prior art. Of course this was before the droid, now not even get the laptop.

Modernized with directions about USB correcting (Sorry - I move that setting on the second I find a phone; entirely not remembered about it). Also updated with directions on making it "one press" from inside OS X. If anyone wants to throw together an Apple script or Automator up or down script for this to hide the dreadful bits, sense free; I use 1/2 my day at the Terminal anyways, so I do not principally mind. You could also almost certainly set up a configuration inside the Tunnelblick Graphical User Interface (GUI) application to do this that calls a bash script to do the DNS setup or demolish; but so far again, I live at the terminal anyways, Therefore I in my view would not problem.

For whoever is wondering, I downloaded the Mac version today and it worked similar to an attraction on my system Mac, have to do the load and check on the Macbook Pro which is where I would be utilizing. Had been utilizing a USB modem through Verizon with (since getting the Droid) the $30 per month choice which it appears that I will no longer want therefore PDANET will give money for itself in one month. Load was attractive stitch simple, now pursue their directions and off you go. There is a DROID service you want to also download.

I own a HTC Desire new and have searched throughout forums attempting to find a way to tie my desire for a MacBook Pro to permit the Mac to utilize my Internet phones. After reading a lot and have lots of problem attempting to suggestions and my own ill-advised attempts I could have got an option! First switch on both devices, go to the turn in desire and portable Wi-Fi Hotspot, go second to the airport (wifi) on the Mac and scroll down to the network from HTC, click and go. It has been a trip of 4 hours by guide to get a method to do this and this post is being published by the above technique, utilizing my Mac during the HTC desire to connect to the Internet. I hope this will be helpful to people who have had issues with control.

As I know about this I want to tell that although I have not provided this a attempt. It appears attractive easy, but my problem is, will you be smashed down by Verizon for this? I know there was application to purchase on blackberry that would provide you liberated tethering, but it was not "authorized" as far as verizon was apprehensive, and if they noticed you utilizing it a lot, they would hit you with the thousands or hundreds of dollars overage prices. What would this way lead to? I would like to provide it a shot and utilize it every once in a moment in the car, but I also do not need to hazard that much as far as impact from Big Red.
