Cannot restore back to ios 4.2 in iPhone 3G

Well i must accept here that i made a big mistake switching to the beta version of the update. Well the updation did not prove to be quite beneficial for me. So what i did was that i did try restoring to the ios version of the 4.2 but i was unsuccessful. Well i tried all the methods to go for the old version but none of them have helped me. I have heard from many of my friends that we can switch back to e old version of the so that we are using. So i want you all to help me with the various solutions that will help me get back to the old os that i was having. So i would appreciate if you all could help me with this particular problem.

According to me there is no option by which you would be able to downgrade to the old operating system that you were earlier using. I think you will have to wait for sometime so that the next ios will be released. That would be the only option that I think will be appropriate for you as of now. Well I think you have done a big mistake by switching to the beta version having not heard anything about it. So as of now wait till the next update is released by the apple. So I hope you are clear with my suggestions.

According to me you must try contacting the beta version developer from where you have got the particular version installed in your phone. may be they will be able to help you with the solutions. As of now as the above user said you will not be able to do anything until the next update is released in the market for the iPhone. Well I don’t think so apple would allow you to officially restore to the old operating system that you are having. I think that is only possible by different methods like restoring with the dfu. I think only dfu restore will only work in your case. So do try with the suggestion and let me know if that works or not.

Well I am quite interested in knowing what are the various possibilities in the dfu restore operation. I read through your post and I quite lied this suggestion. so i want you to give me more information on this particular topic. I hope you would be able to help me out with this problem .well I do not have much knowledge about the particular dfu method. So it would be great if you all could help me with the matter. So do reply as early as possible. I am waiting for your responses.

Well yes I can definitely help you with this type of problem. Well the dfu restoration method is quite successful in all iPhone 3GS/3G iPod. As of now it is a great feature which has helped various people to get back to the operating system which they wanted because of the problem they faced during the updates of the os. So basically it is a method where you will have to place your iDevice in DFU mode.it will try to look for all the current unlocking methods for your phone. also if your iPhone is jailbroken than it would be still easy to downgrade. You will also have to make sure that you have the iRecovery tool in your iPhone. This will be much better for your iPhone. So do try with the above suggestion that I have given here. Well if none of the solutions are working for you then the only option that is left before you would be to restore to all the factory settings. I think this is the last option. Having restored all the factory settings of the phone your phone will be like a brand new phone where all the settings of the phone would be lost and hence it would be a great option for you. So accordingly you would be able to restore the operating system that you had for the phone. I think that would be a great option for you. So do try with the suggestion and let me know whether it works or not.

Hey thanks a lot for all the suggestions that you have given here. Well et me tell you that I did have a look at all the suggestion all were quite good. Well I will have a one more look at the dfu restoration operation in the internet and see how it is performed. Well I think that is a great method and I am deciding that I will go with that method only. Anyways thanks a lot for alt the suggestions that you all have given here. I really appreciate your efforts for helping me solve the issue.
