I have also gotten my W510 this evening, and in, my laptop also I am getting blue screen which is keeps showing up. And in this I am not able to even go into Windows. The blue screen shows up exact after the login. I talked to Lenovo technical support. They told me that they are going to call me back in 2-3 hours, but till now I did not received any kind f call from their side. Any suggestion how am I able to get out of this blue screen issue? I am not able to even get into the Lenovo Recovery software through F11 key.

I have also got my machine on the 12 October 2010, later than waiting almost three weeks. the whole thing worked very well, and I could complete the installation of Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I place in my sim card into the 3g modem slot where the battery goes, and could attach to the internet with no matters. Then I sure to switch off my wireless network via the FN+F5 tick, from there the whole thing have gone downhill. I obtained a blue screen, and machine reboots, as soon as it attempts to log back into windows it reboots once more. I finally restored the factory defaults through the Rescue & Recovery utility. But I still was not able to complete the installation of Windows 7; I ultimately disabled the wireless devices through the BIOS. Then lastly I am able to manage to complete the windows installation. After that I put in my sim card into the 3g modem, and yet once more I get the same blue screen. So in last I have decided to take the machine to IBM service repair centre, the technicians do not acquainted with the difference between Windows 7 and Windows XP. Because they decided to remove the hard drive and test this through another hard drive that has Windows Xp loaded. They call me back and tell me that they have to reinstall the OS, as it is a software difficulty. I totally oppose. I am now going to raise this subject to the manager. I have paid So much for purchasing the latest notebook. Feel now that I have wasted my money.

When I acknowledged the machine, I cleaned everything, including the recovery partitions, then installed Windows 7 64bit once again in this. As far as Windows XP and Vista, they say to install it in a definite order. First, I would download all the newest drivers for your Operating System which can be found here:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...MIGR-74582Copy them over to a memory stick through any windows service packs http://www.microsoft.com/downloads Download the redistributable for IT pros version of the service pack. Do not fail to remember to update the BIOS. It’s on the IBM site listed on top of. You might do that right after you install the Operating System, then go with the drivers. Then pop in your operating system CD and boot to it. And I wanted to know that have you upgraded your partition or not. Format the partition you want to install, then choose that partition and install there (or say next). After you successfully install the operating system, you should install in this specific order:
    1) The latest service pack, 3 for XP, 2 for Vista, and there is not one currently for Windows 7
    2) Intel driver INF files
    3) For Windows 7, I would install the Rapid storage technology driver and the USB 3.0 driver
    4) The rest of the drivers
    5) Windows updates
    6) Applications
This is a general overview of what needs to be done. This install order was for Windows XP and Windows Vista, not sure if Windows7 follows the same, but it does not hurt if I discover any information to the contrary, I will be sure and post it here.

I did not acquainted with there was a blue screen matter. But I forever wipe each machine I obtain just because I have obtained the knowledge and I always partition my hard drive so I am able to keep the Operating System and Data drives a little more separate. I also do not like a number of the stock programs and feature like programs from Lenovo/IBM so it's immediately easier to wipe and start fresh. My instructions on top of skipped some steps presumptuous you folks was able to figure out to click next with me saying.
