Internet tethering causes iPhone crash

I have heard the tethering and I have tried doing that. I am actually trying to tether using the Dell laptop with the help of the USB cable. The problem is not with the connection but the thing is that when the connection gets established then after some time say half hours the connections gets lost. The iPhone gets freezes. After some time the phone again restarts and the whole thing gets to normal, when tried again the same thing repeats. Any suggestions.

Please make sure that you do have the proper USB cable so that you do not have the problem with establishing the connection. I would suggest you to try connecting the iPhone with the system using some other USB cable. Sometimes it happens that there is some of the problem with the USB and after some interval the connection with the device losses. I probably think that this can be the real cause. Please see that.

Well I think if you are having the issues with the iPhone and the tethering than this can be because of the iOS4.1. I have already come across this and have found that the previous version was really easy to deal with. Once the Smartphone is upgraded to the iOS 4.1 then I think that there is no way by which you can get the tethering done with the iPhone. I think you will have to degrade to the older version. Hope that you got the point.

I would suggest you to get the Master Reset done on your handset. I have seen that the Master Reset has really pulled out some of this kind of issues. After the Mater Reset has been done then the issues like this have always been solved. I hope the same thing for you. Please see that the Master Reset on the iPhone is done properly or else this thing will for sure not run for you. Do it properly and let us know if that worked in your case.

It will be really a wonderful idea if you can have the updates of the software for the iPhone. I am sure that the issue like this will be really solved with the updates, I would suggest you that if the updates do not do the trick then it will be wise to go for the Reset and when the Reset is done successfully then go for the updates and then again have a try sometimes some of the updates require the Reset so that they can work properly.

Tethering is the utilization of your mobile phone or other Internet facilitated hand set, as a modem for another machine, probably that machine can be a notebook. To establish the connection either the USB cable is used or to connect wirelessly the Bluetooth is used. See if you can get the connections wirelessly. I totally agree to what Gonzo has said and if the connection gets established then we will be sure if the problem was with the USB or not.

If from the various above posts yet you have not found the solution then I think that the case may be because of the Operating System. Can you please let me know what is the Operating System that you are using on the System? I have seen some of the cases where the things work on the Windows 7 and not on the Windows XP and vice versa. Please let us know the Operating System that you have.
