Apoint.exe Failed to load lanucher dll

I have an Inspiron 1720. I have not installed anything on my laptop but last night i get this message on startup. After i receive this error message my Dell Touchpad icon closes in system tray and now i was unable to scroll up/down and left/right with the touchpad. After this error i try to upgrade my BIOS but nothing seems to happen. I also update the driver for touchpad.Help me to solve this problem. Thank you in advance.

Re: Apoint.exe Failed to load lanucher dll

I too have the same issue with my Inspiron laptop. I call to Dell tech support, they told me that there may be some spyware present into my system, but they were not able to find it. After a hour conversation they finally suggest me to reinstall the windows. I have yet not tried this trick. does any one else have same issue and it get resolve by reinstalling windows? If you have any other information please inform me.

Re: Apoint.exe Failed to load lanucher dll

When I start my laptop in the morning i get a tiny window titled Apoint.exe and the message is Failed to load lanucher dll. I thought this may be due to some malware. I run and update ad-ware frequently and AVG security. In control panel the first icon is little blank page with a corner folded over. I have Inspiron 1420, windows vista installed. Please help.Your effort will be appreciated.

Re: Apoint.exe Failed to load lanucher dll

Thank you. I perform all the step in the same way as you have told and now I do not have any problems. Now my touchpad is working fine and I am able to use my scrolling feature and do not have any issue anywhere. Now the error message is no more displayed. And now the problem is gone. This is really a good trick.
