TRIM is not active without optimizer

I am facing certain issue with Trim in my system. I am using Windows 7 right now and I had bought a 160GB Intel SSD. Now I had connected the same to the system and the SSD optimizer does not found this. I am not able to activate TRIM from here. What can be done here to fix this own. Should I need to download back SSD Toolbox for this. What is the cause of the issue.

First of all you can use TRIM on Windows 7. You can use that with standart microsoft driver msahci. The same will detected and you can use same for backup support. The drivers for the same is released. Sometime you might to activate that from BIOS. Intel has released drivers that allow its RAID controllers manage the TRIM to improve the performance of SSDs.

The TRIM can delegate part of the exit management of flash memory to the operating system. Until now the SSD is compatible with this technology and the same is use on a RAID which meant that the feature was disabled and you might need to re-enable the same back again. So enter your BIOS and checkout there weather you have certain support provide for TRIM in it.

Intel is working on some remedy to provide an update that will activate the TRIM for SSD's ICH RAID 10 or 11. The same is then provided to all the holders of the cluster and then they are able to manage. But on the same hand they are not prepare to configure RAID 5. You can just download the drivers on the Intel Web site and then run the setup utility for TRIM. Better get the manual for this.

Re: TRIM is not active without optimizer

To support the TRIM only SSD is not only required. And the same is applicable for RAID also. So it is clear that there is no support for the TRIM to those who are using SSD RAID 0 or 1. This is due to poor communication at Intel. In my case I have a ICH9R and OCZ Vertex alone and 2 500GB in RAID 0. So as said above, I still do not know if TRIM is activated with the ICH9R.

Re: TRIM is not active without optimizer

The TRIM control aims to ensure the performance of a SSD that it must not degrade over time. The TRIM support was in latest 13-inch MacBook Pro from Apple. Today you can use Windows 7 or Linux and take the advantage TRIM control. But the condition is that all the options are set properly without further error issue. The command for TRIM is not yet standardized. It rely on a small program to run periodically.

It is possible that your system drive. The performance of these discs are going down quite rapidly. This feature allows the DSS to regenerate cells when not requested and precisely to avoid such performance fall. They are all more expensive and slower than those you can buy. This type of function is in the firmware and it just needed to be implemented.
