No post issue on Intel X25-M ICH9R and AHCI

I am not getting solution for the issue due to Intel SSD. I have a intel motherboard and I am using Windows 7 RTM. I had a intel 160GB SSD drive. I had connected the same to my system and when the BIOS detect it gets hang. Now I had restarted sometime and planing to change the cable also. I think there might be some issue relevant to AHCI support. What can be done here.

You might need to flash your BIOS for that. That is the possible way to fix that. It is better if you update your current BIOS version. The SSD is good and it is super-fast but it suffers from a disability after many updates. The internal auditor DSS tries to spread the use of blocks in order not to have a block re-writing that continually fail to wear out before the other.

The issue can be related to your motherboard where your system is finding hard to detect the new hardware. Are you using a very old system. You must check out specification for your system first. If you are planing to put the drive on Raid then may be you will encounter some blue screen crash. So first check your hardware properly and then only try to add up a new one.

The internal controller's of a SSD has need to know the released blocks in order to re-assign. However it is based on the file management system of Linux so they release the blocks of a deleted file and did not inform the controller's internal SSD about the same. This are the all functions which your system might learn out. If your system hangs on BIOS then you might need to flash it.

A friend just bought a new PC and he need some help with the ACHI support for SSD. Knowing the strengths for AHCI it is the hot-plugging for the portable drives. I just need to know that where it is helpful to enable AHCI on a X25-E SSDs at Intel. Does it will be better to work on NCQ. There are lots of question right now for this portable drive support. I need to lookout for some articles.

In my opinion the answer for the same is no. This is because the NCQ can optimize the route traveled by the head on a HDD but on the other hand DSS needs longer time to structure the DSS. We can say that some manufacturers does not recommend the activation of AHCI. The experiences of users who have enabled AHCI and get gains forces you to use it.

Logically about AHCPI the result is simply amazing. While the SSD in AHCI mode just to take over and when they do it with a short head IDE mode has the disturbing habit of strutting around in his head. For example, the Indilinx sees his writing speed increase from 160 to 190 Mb / s, enabling the IDE mode. You quiet improve out your performance but there is lots of issue in this even today also.
