XPS M1330 Nvidia 8400 heat and fan noise problem

Hi there, I am having an issue with the Dell XPS M1330 which is having the some issue with the fan that gives the noise with the same. Actually the problem started after the update of my Nvidia 8400 GS driver, and the fan is spinning around almost every time after the update. So help me with XPS M1330 Nvidia 8400 heat and fan noise problem issue. Thanks in advance.

The first thing that i will advise you to report the problem to the Dell as if your device is under the warranty period the problem of your device will be fixed for free. So ask the Dell support for the help to get rid of the same issue. As they are having the number of client and have gone through this problem before and help you with the same.

As i have gone through the same problem and could not found any solution except one that the modification in the heat sink. There is only one solution as the number of user are having the same issue and they got it working after replacing the Heat Sink chip. So if you like it then replace yours also so that you can get rid of the same.

This is the issue with the nVidia 8400 Chip which is having some kind of heating issue. So Dell have the Thermal Control procedure which overcome the issue of the nVidia by running the fan medium to max speed to prevent the heating issue. So if you have updated the same nVidia chip then it is obvious that you face the issue.

There is one solution if the problem is available which will solve your issue with the same. The which i am talking about is known as the A12 BIOS. If you are not having the same then get it as it is having the fix for your issue. As the nVidia having the issue with the update so the new BIOS have ability to manage the same.

Thanks for helping me out with this issue as i have gone through all the steps and suggestion that is given in response to the " XPS M1330 Nvidia 8400 heat and fan noise problem" and liked all the suggestion. I have checked that i am having A11 BIOS which i am updating with the A12 hoping that this will resolve the issue.
