Toshiba A500-02F - Locking up random

I have recently bought a Toshiba A500-02F laptop which is installed with Windows 7 operating system. The laptop worked fine for few days but now the laptop locks up every now and then. While opening any applications, the system locks up and to bring it back to working state, the laptop has to be shut down my pressing the power button. So if anybody why A500-02F is locking up randomly, then please share some information about the topic. Thanks in advance.

The operating system installed on the computer is not working properly and hence you are facing such problems. There are lot of files which are associated to the operating system of the computer. If any of the files which is associated to the operating system is corrupt or missing on the computer then the operating system will not work properly and will give the similar problems. Insert the installation disk and boot the system from the disk. Let the installer load and then select the repair current windows installation option. Once done check if the system is working properly or not.

Most of the laptops face the problem with residual charge storage. The residual charge gets stored near the RAM chips of the laptop. If the residual charge reaches the threshold level then the system will not be able to access the RAM chips of the laptop. If the system is not able to access the RAM chips then it will freeze up intermittently. You will have to clear the residual charge from the laptop to bring it back to working state. To clear the residual charge, shut down the laptop and remove the battery. Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Replace the battery and then check if the system boots properly or not.

Scan the system with an updated antivirus as there is a high possibility that the system is infected with some virus. Virus's have the tendency of linking with the files of the operating system. If such a situation occurs then the operating system will not be able to access the file which are infected. Hence scan the system with an antivirus and check all the files which are infected. Repair or quarantine the files which are infected and then see if the system performs properly on not. Do not delete any files as it will lead to total system failure.

You will have to update the BIOS of the laptop. The information of all the devices which are connected to the computer is stored in the BIOS of the system. If the BIOS is not working properly then the system will freeze up frequently. To update the BIOS of the computer, visit the official website and download the latest BIOS update which is available for the model which you are using. Run the update utility from the command prompt and see if the problem is solved. Do not run any application on the laptop while the BIOS is updating as it will quit the update process and render the motherboard stock.

If the motherboard of the computer is not working properly then the system will end up freezing. Therefore I would suggest that you get the motherboard of the laptop checked by the technician at the service center. If the motherboard is faulty then you will have to get it replaced. As the laptop is new, it will be replaced for free as all the Toshiba products are under 1 year warranty coverage.
