I suggest you to try to start you system in safe mode. This might help help you from getting blue screen and restart. The blue screen problem also referred as BSoD. The BSod is also an "emergency stop" described in the manuals Windows XP. The blue screens of death have always been present in one form or another in all operating systems from Microsoft Windows version 2.0.

The blue screen the less critical occurs with the Microsoft operating systems Windows 98 and XP. In these operating systems, the BSoD is the main way to view error reports VxD destination user. Internally, they are referred by the name "_VWIN32_FaultPopup. It comes in the form of a blue screen displays information about the error occurred. A blue screen on Windows XP gives the user the option to restart or continue.

The most common cause of Blue Screen issue i.e BSoD is usually caused by an incompatible version DLLs. This cause is sometimes referred to "DLL Hell" (DLL hell). If the versions have changed during the next loading the application, the expected version is not that responsible. Windows loads these libraries into memory when required by an application.

In Windows XP the blue screen of death occurs only when the kernel encounters an error that it can handle. This error is usually caused by a driver who launched an illegal operation or caused an exception not allowed. The only operation that the user can do in this case is to reboot the machine with the risk of data loss due to improper shutdown of Windows. But this happens far less often than with Windows 9x. It not a issue of your HP Pavillion DV1000.
