You are having the Panasonic NV-GS230 MiniDV camcorder and having problem in transferring the videos from the MiniDV cassette to hard drive of the computer system. The error which is shown by the Windows XP operating system is that the connected device is malfunctioning and the system is not recognizing the camcorder. I think you are using the wrong type of the cable for connecting the Panasonic camcorder to the computer system.

You have mentioned that this Panasonic camcorder the DV port for transferring the videos from the MiniDV to the computer system. So i think this will be the firewire port because the firewire cable is used for transferring the videos. So make sure that you are having proper firewire cable and connected it properly to the camcorder and the computer system.

You are connecting the Panasonic camcorder the desktop computer system having the Windows XP operating system and the computer shows that the device connected is malfunctioning. I want to ask you, which type of the cable you are using for connecting the camcorder to the computer. If you are not using proper firewire cable then this issue arises. Both the sides of the firewire cable should be same and at the same time the desktop should also have the firewire port for connecting.

But this is not working for me. what can i do for resolving this problem.
