SRS Audio Sandbox shows error message on windows 7.

Hi all, I have bought a new computer and i 5.1 srs audio system also. I have installed windows 7 on this computer. I am not able to use my audio system on this computer. I have Realtek based audio card. Whenever i try to connect my SRS Audio Sandbox on windows 7 desktop then it returns the message that " The preferred device does not support 5.1 surround sound".

    Complete uninstalling of previous driver.

I think your srs 5.1 audio system should work perfectly but the reason behind its not working can be the driver you may using. Your driver must be having some problem as you are getting the message like not supported audio. Do not be worrying as you have to follow some simple steps to remove the current driver for audio support on your computer.
    1. Go to start menu.
    2. Open Add and Remove Programs.
    3. Search for the driver that you are using currently.
    4. Select the driver name and click on Remove button.
    5. Make sure that it is completely removed from the core.

Install vista 64 driver on windows 7.

I would like to suggest for installing the new driver to get the support for the 5.1 surround sound system. Before installing the new driver i would like to suggest you to uninstall the previous driver properly. I think you should try to install Vista 64 driver which will support for SRS 51. Audio channel. Make sure that you are installing the same from the official website.

Enable 5.1 sound from the control panel.

Do not worry as you need a to do some settings in order to play your 5.1 audio channel on windows 7. Have you enabled the 5.1 sound in the system settings ? By enabling the same, your computer will be supporting for the all 5 speakers of your sound system. Go to the start menu and control panel from the settings. Select hardware and sound and click on the sound. Now double click on the main sound device. And change the output for the same from stereo to 5.1 and click on apply.

Change sound property to the speaker fill.

There would be some settings needed on your computer about speakers. I think your srs system would be having the full support for the sound driver installed on your system. If you have installed the latest version of the driver then you may proceed with the settings by going to the Control panel. Go to Sound and select properties. Select enhancements where you will find speaker fill so enable it.
