Motorola’s first communicator phone
Motorola will soon begin selling its first communicator with Windows Mobile, which is designed for normal use. Novinka nabÃ*dne QVGA displej, rychlý procesor, GPS navigaci a wi-fi. New offer QVGA screen, fast processor, GPS navigation and wi-fi.
Czech site IDNEZ.cz has published some more details of Motorola’s A3000, better known to us as the Atilla. The device has apparently been approved by China’s telecommunications authority.
The device, which appears to be rather low-end, with a 3.5 inch QVGA touch screen, is 110 x 60 x 13.7 millimeters. The weight of the device is 120 grams. It features Quadband GSM and EDGE, but there is no evidence of 3G (not uncommon for China, who is only now rolling out a 3G network) or even WIFI. The device even lacks GPS. The processor is however no slouch, being a Qualcomm MSM7206A processor running at 528 MHz, and the camera is a industry-standard 3 megapixel. Expansion if via microSDHC.
IDNEZ speculated that the device may launch with Windows Mobile 6.5.
The launch of this device in China is interesting, as Motorola has seen a lot of success in China with its Linux-powered Ming handset which shares a similar form-factor, and most had assumed the Windows Mobile powered device was targeted only at the western market.
