Philips Raga, Spark and LUXE MP3 Players

Philips has finally announced its highly awaited audio players, the Raga, Spark and Luxe for the GoGear lineup. The three MP3 players had been waiting really long to get formal names and we think the official announcement from Philips makes the introduction even more exciting.

The Raga flash player comes with a choice of 2GB or 4GB of flash storage, the player has a Philips multi-line display and has a battery life of 27 hours. The price is $35 and $45. The Spark turns things up a notch by offering a 1.5-inch OLED color screen and clix-style navigation. The price is $50 or $60.

Speaking of the three players, the Raga comes with a tiny multi-line display and is a completely nondescript flash player. With 2GB or 4GB of flash storage, the battery of the player claims to last around hours. The Raga sells for around $35 or $45.

The other one of interest is the GoGear LUXE player. It has the transparent color LCD-style that we saw a couple of years ago from a Sony music player that shall remain nameless. This one, though, is refined and sparkly

It also comes with FullSound, which means that a music output is refined by "performing 10 million operations per second to analyze and re-compute the music signal." The key feature, though, is the ability to sync it with any phone to make a switch to incoming calls (it has a clip-on Bluetooth mic), Gogear_philipswithout losing your place in a beat or without removing your headphones.

The LUXE will be available at 2GB and 4GB, at $90 and $100, respectively, when it's released in January.

Both the LUXE and Spark offers Rhapsody integration as well as Philips “FullSound” EQ technology. The player can clip to your clothes, so you can access the controls easier, it can also sync itself to your cell phone.
