Canon PIXMA IP1600

Hello everyone!
I just bought a Canon PIXMA IP1600.

So now I have three questions:

1 - There is a small clip at the bottom of the printer. What is it? (I know it's not very clear, but for those who have the printer, they should know whereof I speak ....) there is nothing in the manual on this widget that can be put in 2 positions.

2 - Is there any chance to recover the printed sheet?

3- Sometimes when the leaf is "swallowed" by the printer, it is crosswind. it comes from what? Too much paper?

I would also like to know how did you come to change the ink cartridges in your IP 1600: a manual drawing is left but I see no cartridges to withdraw there, for cons on the right it should have but there is no door to raise ... Briefly, I'm stuck!
