Overclocking an ATI Radeon HD 5830

I want to know about an overclocking of ATI Radeon HD 5830. I have done an overclocking on other graphic card, but not having an idea about it. i want to do it on my own, but since I am not having enough knowledge, I want some information about this graphic card. Please help me by providing some information about an overclocking. I am sure that someone from your side must have done an overclocking on this graphic card. Please help me.

Many out there, the newly purchased video card was not fast enough. An effective way to satisfy this need for more speed is to overclock your hardware. As a small stability test we let the 3DMark06, the graphics-heavy is special, run and tested below the highest clock with the help of Battleforge, Crysis Warhead.

The slimmed-RV870 GPU on the Radeon HD 5830 can overclock quite well. After all, exactly 100 MHz more clock and thus a frequency of 900 MHz are possible before appearing first graphics error. The 1,024 MB of GDDR5 memory has similar large reserves. A gain of 300 MHz, resulting in 2,300 MHz are feasible without major problems. Depending on the application, the power increases by ten to 13 percent.

You should also know about Volume, because that is also an important thing when overclocking is considered. Since virtually all current models have a manufacturer-side fan control, we differ in the measurements of the 2D and 3D operation. For the load measurements a savegame is used for Bioshock and noted after thirty minutes the volume. Both measurements are 15 cm distance from the video card conducted. The test sample of the Radeon HD 5830 on Windows with the measured 44.5 decibels is pleasantly quiet and not disruptive to the operation. Under load the fan does, however, to hear and then comes to 53 decibels, which one is on par with the Radeon HD 5870 - due to the comparable power consumption and fan of the identical PCBs and certainly not a miracle.

Similar to the measurements for the volume and the temperature measurements are made. Almost all current graphics cards have sensors that can be read by drivers or manufacturer tool. The core temperature is at rest on the Windows desktop and under load is read after thirty minutes Bioshock. On Windows, the test sample of the Radeon HD 5830 37 degrees Celsius and is therefore almost 5850th of a Radeon HD Under load it is then equal to 78 degrees, which is based the card again at the Radeon HD 5870. The problem, however, this value is still a long way since modern GPUs for 100 degrees and are more designed. On the chip back, we measured a heat of up to 55 degrees Celsius.

Re: Overclocking an ATI Radeon HD 5830

On Windows, it has the Radeon HD 5830 back because of the good energy-saving mechanism in the discipline of power, thus achieving a reading of 167 watts (meaning the entire PC). This is, however, slightly higher than a Radeon HD 5850. AMD had announced the TDP data already: The Radeon HD 5830 eats under load considerably more power than the faster Radeon HD 5850. Thus, the card comes to 304 watts and is thus only one watt at the significantly better Radeon HD 5870 than the Radeon HD 5850 requires no more than 279 watts - far less than the new product. The reasons for this is that ATI Radeon HD 5830 goes to the higher clock speeds than the Radeon HD 5850th To achieve this, however, had the power to be raised since, as the Radeon HD 5830 chips are used, which can not meet the specifications of a Radeon HD 5850 and Radeon HD 5870 and therefore not working optimally (but yet with the proper operation the specifications of the Radeon HD 5830 allows).
