    Ati Radeon 5830 vs 4890 vs 5770

    Hi,
I want to add more graphic card support to my system. Rigthnow I am using 4890 which is nice but not so much helpful for what I am expecting for overclocking and playing high end games. For the same I need some information on choosing upon between 5830 and 5770. I had head a lot of complaint about the 5830 cards. So that creates lots of doubts. Thanks in advance.

In my view I will rather like to go for ATI Radeon 5770 GPU. The ATI Radeon 5830 is fine but there is not use of spend a bit lesser amount and switch to a more reliable. I want to say that I will not spend a higher amount for the card which is not stable. The ATI Radeon 5770 with Sli gives out really high performance and that too in very cost effective.

I will too recommend ATI Radeon 5770 with ATI Radeon 4870. They are much stable version and works around 10% higher speed. It really worth buying the ATI Radeon 5770 as compare to ATI Radeon 5830 which is a bit more costlier the performance is a little higher than the older version not excellent. On the other hand the 5870 is quiet stable card.

The Radeon 5870 card is nice but not recommended for downgrade. I am using this card right now and the performance I noticed is nice. But I am not able to use the same with an older version of card especially if you have ATI Radeon 4870. So the middle range ATI Radeon 5770 is a much better option for this. It is not so bad as compare to 5850.

That is quiet right in most of the cases. The Radeon 5830 does not work so great with ATI Radeon 4890 due to the much older version support. It is not recommend if you plan to go for sli support and use both on your system. But if you need some serious upgrade to a higher version of card then look for some more new models for your system.

I my system the ATI Radeon 5770 and ATI Radeon 4870 works well over crossfire. Both cards performs really well. I had noticed a much higher improvement in my systems performance after adding the 5770 to it. But not sure about the 5830 card. I had too gone through various threads denoting that the new version is not stable with crossfire support. So better not to go for that.

Re: Ati Radeon 5830 vs 4890 vs 5770

My 5830 card is dead and I am no using 5770 on my system. It is really true that the ATI Radeon 5770 graphic card is a much stabler version which works with most of the system and quiet suitable for crossfire support also. It is possible to downgrade in 5770 and not in 5830. So for a complete upgrade the higher version is recommended or else switch to 5770.
