Benchmarks of ATI Radeon HD 5830

I am thinking of taking ATI Radeon HD 5830 from my cousin, who has no use of that graphic card. So I thought that instead of wasting it there, I can use it. Now I am not having much information about that video card. So thought that you members may help me in this, by providing some related information. Moreover, I am interested in knowing about the benchmarks of ATI Radeon HD 5830. I will get an idea if you provide me the details about benchmarks. Otherwise, I want graphic card, I will have to look for some other. (I know that will be bit expensive ).

Re: Benchmarks of ATI Radeon HD 5830

The following benchmarks were used during our tests:
    Synthetic Benchmarks:
    • 3DMark Vantage 1:01

    Games Benchmarks:
    • Anno 1404, full version, version 1.1
    • Batman: Arkham Asylum, full version, version 1.1
    • Call of Duty 5, full version, version 1.7
    • Colin McRae: Dirt 2, full version, version 1.0

All benchmarks are run with highest details so that the graphics card will be charged as lofty as achievable. As the settings we have selected us for 1280x1024 (slow map), 1680x1050, 1920x1200 and 2560x1600 (the last two resolutions only with suitably fast graphics cards). We pay acknowledgment to the modern high-end accelerator compliment that will make their computing power lower CPU limited resolutions. Besides the uncontaminated resolutions, we let the benchmark course with 4-fold (and if doable eight times) through anti-aliasing and 16x anisotropic filter. TSSAA (Nvidia) or AAA (ATI) for smoothing alpha test textures we use for the reason that of compatibility problems not in our benchmark course.

Re: Benchmarks of ATI Radeon HD 5830

The time competitor Nvidia puts the other hand, persist to start dilemma, since no single DirectX 11 graphics card GF100/Fermi-Architektur has not reach the counter. Even though it backed up the rumor mill indicated that it might could be so far, but this is not enough. Until then tried with the Nvidia GeForce now dusty-200-generation customers to keep them blissful. To take advantage of this weakness to continue, AMD presented today a new Radeon HD 5000 card, which is yet again this time of the vaguely advanced price points. The Radeon HD 5830 should not only set about the performance between the Radeon HD 5770 and Radeon HD 5850, but at the identical price. Thus it is pretty plausible that a new price / performance champion has found their way to us.

Re: Benchmarks of ATI Radeon HD 5830

I would like to discuss some technical part of it. Compared with the GPU on the Radeon HD 5850 is based on the Radeon HD 5830, however, artificially curtailed. Thus, on the Radeon HD 5830 only 14 full SIMD units whose 20 left. As a result, the buyer may incur a total of 224 shader units 5D. On the 1120 GPU ALUs are enabled, the per cycle, one MADD (Multiply-ADD) can be calculated. AMD talks so glad of 1,120 stream processing units, since this number can be marketed better. Per SIMD unit has a texture cluster. On the partially disabled RV870 texture so are 14 clusters, each with four full texture units available. The 56 texture mapping units, short TMUs can one pixel per clock and texture address.

Re: Benchmarks of ATI Radeon HD 5830

As with the Radeon HD 5670 and ATI Radeon HD 5830 is in the flexible architecture of the RV800 generation. For so are on the 3D accelerator only 16 raster operation units, ROPs, active. The RV870 actually has 32 ROPs, which are always grouped together four in a ROP cluster. ROP and two clusters are usually connected respectively to a 64 bit wide memory controller. Since there is the Radeon HD 5830 just only 16 ROPs, and consequently only four ROP cluster, could now be assumed that the memory interface has been halved to 128 bits. In this respect we can give all-clear, since there are still four 64-bit controller - and therefore a 256-bit interface. The GPU of the Radeon HD 5830 is clocked at 800 MHz, while the 1,024 MB is controlled large GDDR5 memory with about 2,000 MHz. The maximum power consumption of the card is according to the manufacturer at 175 watts, while a faster Radeon HD 5850 comes to lower 151 watts. Probably ATI Radeon HD 5830 uses the RV870 GPUs of "lower quality" than a Radeon HD 5850 (with respect to the functionality of this makes no difference), so AMD must increase the voltage, can achieve about 800 MHz. In Windows to the 3D accelerator draw only 25 watts from the line.

Re: Benchmarks of ATI Radeon HD 5830

This not only means that we will appear in the test card inserted in this form, probably never to trade, but also that we also can only make accurate information about the performance of the cards. For thus not only the volume and the temperatures of our test samples different from the final versions will be, but it is equally possible that the power consumption will vary from more efficient and better power supply PCB. The AMD made available to the press card does not just look like a Radeon HD 5870 from, it's also about the cooler, total PCBs and connectors completely identical to the current fastest single-GPU card. It is therefore conceivable and probably likely that the card originally was planned as a Radeon HD 5870 and then by a modified BIOS to the performance level of a Radeon HD 5830 has been set down.
