Temperature of AMD Phenom II X6 1090T

I've just finished assembling the computer and since I have doubts about how I mounted the heatsink and thermal paste the first thing I looked in the bios is the temperature:

    CPU: about 41-42 °
    Motherboard :36-37 °

The temperature here inside the case is 24 degrees. So don't you think the temperature of the cpu is a little higher and I should improve its coolness? I have a heatsink which is Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme rev.2.

I have same processor as yours but cooler then you. I have it at 25° in room temperature with amd overdrive in the desktop environment/navigation and it is at 37°/38° when in operation. By bios it should be about +6/7 degrees than it is shown.

I have not found the thermal paste but I have tried to replace the heatsink with what was in the packaging of the processor with the thermal paste pre-applied and the result is the same: after 5 min and power on bios temperature reaches 40 degrees on the cpu!

Then problem was not fitting the heatsink. The case has a 120mm fan on the back and I set the max speed but may be a fan is not enough?

If I were you I'm going to remove the original pad that is located under the sink and put the BOX thermal paste of the artic cooling. Then I will know my temp with standard. Which is the motherboard that you have installed? I bought a gigabyte Ga-880GA-UD3H and its a good card.

I really do not know if that is the temperature. I try to put the freezer xtreme bought the thermal paste and see how it goes! Meanwhile, if you think the system bios and install the operating system might cause heat to give me problems or 40 degrees are still tolerated??

The normal temperature for, let's say a 1055t or 1090t idle, should be 32/34 degrees with original ambient temperature of 25/26 degrees. Speaking for myself I said not having a standard -14 noctua I can tell you the temperature in idle 28/29 and 39/40 when in full. Also keep in mind that you lowered the vcore if you have not yet done so and if you keep the processor frequency standard.
