    UnOfficial Updates for Windows 7

Hi, I have installed the Windows 7 on my computer and wanted to know that if we run the UnOfficial updates then can it be harmful to run those updates. Is Microsoft updates are only official? Can anyone help me to know this? Is it safe to install the unofficial updates and hotfixes in your computer? Tell me frankly, what you think about it. I am waiting for your reply.

Hi, as far as my knowledge is concern, you don't need to install any update which is not come from the Official Site as Microsoft. It may possible that those updates would make problem to your computer. So, just try to make sure that you will able to download the updates from only Microsoft site. Don't take any chance to your computer as if you have more data in your harddisk and you got some problem to your Operating system due to these updates then it may harm your data.

I don't think that there would be any problem while taking use of the Unofficial sites for updates. Many times Microsoft create release of beta patches which are called as hotfixes. You can download it from the Microsoft.com and use those updates without any problem. I think that it will not make any problem to you if you download the updates from the unofficial sites, as I have not got any type of problem till yet, while using those updates. Make use of Updated Antivirus on your computer, so if any one of them is problematic then also it wont hurt you.

Hey, I am also in the same problem. I have downloaded the update of Windows 7 from the unofficial site which is named as Win7.RTM.October.Part2.Updates-Zuko.zip (113.7 MB) and now thinking whether to install it or not. So, if anyone is having idea about this or anyone had installed this update then please give me reply about your experience. I am waiting for your reply. I have scan this update with Avast Home Edition and there is not any thread of virus.

I think you don't need to think about it. As if you have installed any type of Antivirus in your computer then it can't make any type of problem. Most of the time it may happen that you don't have any type of protection and suddenly virus from your updates gets installed in your computer and it harms to your computer. So, just keep your antivirus updated and don't worry about the updates.

Hello, I don't use any type of update to my Windows 7. As there may be possibility that if a update is not working properly or it requires any new modification to your computer then you need to reinstall the whole operating system. So, don't make use of any update to your computer if you want to keep your computer working all the time without formatting the computer. I had got may such experience about it. So, I am suggesting you to keep your updates off.
