    Defrag raid 0

I have a RAID 0 ,I Defragmentation with Diskeeper. but problem is that there are uneven Defragmentation on disk ,big empty space between start and end is it dangerous for the integrity of the mirroring of a disk defragmenter in raid-0 ? also how its works for multiple disk ?

    thank you

    Re: Defrag raid 0

For simplicity, each minimum data block is split into X and X on shared disks, so ie a block located at 177.5 Mb of the beginning of the disc is again on the other disks the array, so in the end when you see one in DD workstation is indeed because RAID0 is equivalent to a normal CC, so fragmentation and defragmentation raid 0 goes the same way as a single disc.

available files in the partition is not really influenced by the raid 0 so Defragment a disk, just read and write sectors, there is nothing particular in relation to use ,data are divided by two and are written in the same locations on the hd. they appear in the same partition

    Re: Defrag raid 0

RAID 0 uses data, such as stripping the data is divided into fragments by writing to the disk. The fragments are then written disks simultaneously on the same sector. While reading the data is read from the drive, parallel and yes, this type of arrangement offers huge bandwidth.some times Defrag RAID 0 takes long time

The trade-off associated with RAID 0, is that a single disk does not annul the whole array when it does not provide fault tolerance and RAID 0 does not perform error checking.

the RAID run in hardware, is completely transparent to the user. The latter can use any type of entertainment software for reading / writing seceurs, such as a defragmentation software (specific to bone or independent), or even an application of ghost. To change a hdd, just report the newcomer to RAID ctrl, via its interface (often accessible to boot PC).
