    Very Slow Startup

My system takes around 50 minutes to startup before it gets to the login screen. Looking through the event viewer there is an event by the Service Control Event Manager that says crcdisk start driver failed to load ID 7026.

The really strange thing is that the system clock has managed to drop 50minutes during this logon process.

Over the past month the logon process has gradually increased and I have also seen the clock time changing.

The laptop is an ASUS x53 series with Vista Ultimate SP1

Any help would be very gratefully received.
    Thanks Ian

CRC Error means 'physical read error'. It Means time to buy new hard disk! your hard disk has crashed, not totally, but it will die totally in some days. if you need any important data from the disk, buy a new one and back up all the data before your old hard disk dies! All the best!

    hi,
You can extract a fresh copy from your XP cab file. In the Run window type msconfig and find in the lower right had corner of the General tab a radio button titled "Expand File",click it, fill in the blanks and you will get a new copy of crcdisk.sys.and try to reinstall it.

i think CRC error means problem of Hard disk. Under this condition trying to buy a new Storage and get backups.. Then try to reduce start up programs by run--> msconfig --> start up as well as services..
    and
    try to defragment ur HD
