    OS Vista 32bit or OS Vista 64bit for Gaming

    i am new to this section ....
    so can anyone please help me in searching the difference between operating system Vista 32bit and Vista 64 bit? and how do they differ in terms when gaming criteria is concerned?
    please provide your important views .............

    The 64-bit version of Windows Vista operating system is for about 10.9 percent faster than 32-bit Vista, according to the GeekBench benchmark for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms.

    Both 32-bit and 64-bit tests were done on a budget AMD Sempron 2800+ powered desktop PC, featuring Asus K8U-X motherboard with 512MB of main memory.

    The 32-bit Windows Vista Ultimate achived 99.8 GeekBench points, while the 64-bit version of the same OS gained 110.7 points. The higher number of points is better. This Windows Vista 32-bit vs 64-bit benchmark consist of measuring integer performance, floating point performance, as same as memory and stream performance.

    Running 64-bit applications on a 64-bit OS doesn't yield clear cut results in these types of benchmarks. Part of the problem is the relatively small data sets used in the 3D rendering tests, where most of the pure 64-bit benchmarks were run. i will be looking into larger data set rendering tests for future use. If anything, the test indicates what moving to 64-bit can do, under the right conditions.

    With video and photographic applications, you'll also see mixed performance—some things will run faster, some cases slower.

    The results for gaming was the most intriguing. As many users may have experienced, particularly with games like Crysis and Supreme Commander, modern PC games often push up against the 2GB limit. Given that an application gets its own 2GB partition when running on 64-bit Vista, that means a big game gets just a bit more memory than it would on a 32-bit OS.

    On the other hand, 32-bit application running on Vista 64 have to think through the WoW64 subsystem, which is how 32-bit Windows applications run on Vista 64-bit. With games, at least, it seems that having that extra bit of space in the memory partition helps more than the thinking hurts.

    I've had no problems with Vista 64-bit in games stretching back as far as the early 90s had to get a DOS emulator for some of my even older ones but they worked once I got that. 64-bit is the way to go, you can swap in more RAM, and more is always better. Also, as time goes on companies are going to focus more and more on providing native 64-bit support for games, applications, etc.

    There's a tiny drop in performance when running 32-bit games and it's noticible because it's running on 32-bit emulation in a 64-bit environment, this will be more and more of a problem as time goes on.

    Still, that % in 32-bit apps is more than made up in overall system performance by putting in 8 GB of RAM, letting you fully disable the windows page file.
