Have you heard of "Virtual PC Doctor?"

I am starting this thread to know that if someone over here heard of "virtual pc doctor"? One of my friends asked me to see for this. He got a spontaneous call from somebody who claims to be from a company telling that there have been a lot of computer issues in that area and they can solve the issues but before that they will have to access the computer to discover the errors. He was provided a website to go to and a password kind of thing to type and then they can access het computer. He realized that it would be risky to do that and so he asked me. I also told him to avoid that. If there is anyone else who have the same experience with that then please share that with us.

I have never heeded of a lawful company making similar calls as you mentioned. So please tell your friend once again to avoid such calls and don’t provide any information to them otherwise you will be the victim of your loss.

It is surly a scam. If your computer is showing you many of the errors as well as warnings within the Application log then it can be considered as normal. They do not indicate the corrupt files. The best way to make your system protected is to have a good updated antivirus and the firewall protection on. Other than this don’t allow any such unknown access to your computer. They might misuse the data of your computer.

I would like to notify that a scam service by name as Virtual PC Doctor is offered in the market. It is a fraud company that makes calls and says that they are partners of Microsoft and they will heal the PC. They get a remote access as well as install a Fraud software as ADVANCED SYSTEM CARE and demonstrate number of problems in your computer and after that again some free software are installed that are willingly obtainable in sites similar to download.com. They run this and demonstrate that they are cleaning the computer. Some people think that they are doing a immense overhaul but are not considerate that in fact these guys are doing nil. These guys are just making cash out of uninformed customers.
