How to rename an unidentified network in windows 7?

I am sure you have got my problem and for what reason I have come here. I need some help from you all. I am having a windows 7 service pack 1 running in my system and I want to know the process by which I would be able to rename the unidentified network. Practically speaking none of the websites are of worth to me because none of them were able to give me some perfect solution for it. so that’s why I have come here to seek some genuine advice from you all. So any of you all who can help me on this topic then do let me know about it.

Yes, I can definitely help you on this topic. Do follow the steps that I have given you here and I am sure that it will help you in the process.
    1) First go to the start button and in the run command type MMC and in there press enter.
    2) You will get the MMC console and in the menu file you will get the Add/remove snap in. just select that.
    3) Now you will get the Group Policy Object editor now in that you will be given the add option and from there select the local computer. Now press ok.
    4) Now you must be knowing about the computer configuration. Go to the windows settings, then security settings, and then select network list manager.
    5) Now having done that properly check the right side and you will get to see the options of unidentified network.
    6) You can have the option of selecting it and changing it accordingly.
So do follow the steps and I am quite sure that it will help you.

Well I did have a read at all the steps that you have given here and it appears to me as if the steps are for the windows 7 professional editions. Mine is the simple windows 7 home edition operating system and I think that will not work with me. I appreciate that you have searched and found out some good solutions here but still sad to say that it will not work out here. So I suppose I am clear with my question here and I am expecting some alternate solutions from you all.

I would like to suggest something here. One simple step is that Local Security Policy editor and from there in the right pane you would be able to get the unidentified networks. Double click on it and rename it. I think this is the perfect solution for you do try it and I think the above solution must work with you. So do try that and let me know if it works or not. I am sure that it will work out with you.
