Alerts of Application/RogueAntimalware2009 while surfing the web

I am using Windows XP Service Pack 2 and my browser is Mozilla Firefox. The problem is that I am getting alerts of Application/RogueAntimalware2009 while surfing the web from the AVAST antivirus that I am using in my system. I am able to delete the infection, but it will be better if I can use some method that will block the infections from entering the system. Please help me with the possible solutions available.
