Hello, I am using Windows xp. When I try to send any instant message from my computer to another computer which is in the same subnet it gives me error as below:
"The message alias could not be found on the network."
Error Code : 2273

I think you are getting this error as you are having problem of Firewall. You can try to follow the same steps by turning off the firewall. I think if your firewall is turned off then it is possible to send instant message from your computer to other computer which is in same subnet. So, just try it, it will solve your problem.

• Now you will get the Computer Management window which you need to expand.

• Click on the Automatic from the Startup and Ok.

Error Code : 2273 in your computer, it may possible that in one of the computer messenger service is not started and you are getting this error. Hey, I am also getting the same problem while using netsend command. I got the following error while using it.

An Error occurred while sending a message to L6968
The message alias could not be found on the network.

How to solve this? Firewall turn off not giving any solution.
