    VPN Error 433

I have DELL desktop computer at my home with configuration: Intel Atom 230, Intel 950 GMA, 512Gb HDD, 3GB RAM, Windows XP. I have setup a ipsec/ike vpn on my cisco pix with the PDM wizard. It works fine, but when i get a second user to connect to the PIX, it boots the first user off and gives this error code: Error 433( and after this VPN connection get terminated). Please someone help me out to fix this problem. It is really creating many problems for me.

Actually information provided by you is little bit incomplete, can you tell me how much IP addresses did you reserve in the IP local pool? I can tell you a possible solution may be it will. The solution is first goto Network Connections, under that there would be Network Bridge option present and now remove the LAN connections there in the Network Bridge. Check it this solution may work. Actually i had same problem of VPN(virtual private network) with error 433, and fixed it by solution given to you.

According to me, this is a common case of both desktop which are sitting behind a nat/pat device. And if that is the real case then would suggest you to go to the PIX and type in the following command: isakmp nat-t
The command(isakmp nat-t) will allow the multiple connections from same nat/pat address with encapsulation with UDP 4500. This error usually comes in virtual private network(VPN) and sometime really make a headache for us. But, can be solved simply by anyone how knows little bit also about VPN. If you are not able solve the problem then contact the ITC Help Desk for assistance.

Firstly would say that VPN is a Virtual Private Network. There is always be a firewall between the ISP(internet service provider) systems and the rest of the world. It acts as a 'gatekeeper' for accessing Integrated System. All the users must login/log into the firewall to get access to the Integrated System logon screen. The error 433 that is received by you, says that the ikey account has been deactivated, contact to ITC helpdesk to get assistance. Hope you will be able to fix the problem.

My suggestion would be to go through ipsec rules and change uncheck/unmark the 'ASA SIDE HOSTNETWORK FROM ADDRESS TRANSLATION'. The step mention can also be done by ASDM, go to the VPN then to ipsec rules and now double clicking the IP and uncheck/unmark the above said option. As by default address translation is enable and it stop the tunnel to come up. Also in many cases the VPN may disconnect, check the peer logs for details. Think so you will be able to fix the problem.

The vpn(virtual private network) came with error 433, check weather pper have gave any reason to disconnect with tunnel. And if peer gave no reason to disconnect the tunnel, you must see the peer logs for details. And there will be some more information available on the client side as well. I would also recommend you to test with different version of VPN client. Hope your problem gets solved.
