Hello,
I have HP 6230 notebook.I want to reset my notebook bios.My notebook bios always show press f1 but not working. can you help me out??
There are 2 ways you can reset your bios of your notebook.
1. On your notebook motherboard there is a small watch battery. You have to Remove this battery from motherboard along with the power cable from the power supply. Wait 2-3 minutes then reinstall the battery and plug in your system. Your reset is now complete.
2. Some Notebooks motherboards have a 3 pin jumper by the battery. Lets say that the jumper is on pins 2 and 3. Remove the jumper while the machine is OFF and place onto pins 1 and 2. Power on your machine for a minute. (Note: Your system will not POST). Shutdown your machine and put the jumper back to pins 2 and 3. Your reset is now complete
This way you can reset your notebook Bios .
Shutoff your notebook . Locate a rocker-style switch at the back of your notebook (if applicable), and switch it from the on position (I) to the off position (O). Find the 3-pin jumper near the power supply, typically labeled "clear cmos" or "reset bios". Remove the jumper from the default position (typically connecting the 1st and 2nd pins).Replace the jumper to connect the 2nd and 3rd pins Push the power button on the front of your PC once. Wait a minute. Return the jumper to its default position, connecting the 1st and 2nd pins. Move the rocker-style switch at the back of your PC (if applicable), to the on (I) position.
Power on your PC with its front power button your bios has been reseted.
To configure your bios of laptop you need to Locate a rocker-style switch at the back of your Laptop (if applicable), and switch it from the on position (I) to the off position (O). Be careful when you remove the CMOS battery. This should be a regular 3V, round, flat watch battery. Wait at least 5 minutes. Reinsert the CMOS battery. Move the rocker-style switch at the back of your notebook (if applicable), to the on (I) position. Power on your PC with its front power button.Don't forget to configure your BIOS after this process. Without any custom configuration, most system should still function adequately with their default settings. It's warning If you don't know how to configure your BIOS, don't mess with it. You can damage your PC.
