Don't know whether BIOS is faulty or something else

I am having a computer which I have built with the needed configuration. The problem I am having with my computer is that it starts sometimes and doesn’t start again. The CPU fan spins for some seconds and then stops. It is having weird problems as it gives some error codes and computer doesn’t boot. I have tried certain things which I have read from several forums regarding this problem, but still the problem is not getting solved. So please let me know something which I could try out in order to turn my computer on.

If your computer is not getting on then I guess there might be some problem with your power supply unit. First of all disconnect all the connectors and disassemble your computer by removing all the parts from the motherboard. Then assemble whole thing perfectly and then start it again. If not then you need to check whether your PSU is working. You can check this by doing a shot on your PSU and then if the fan spins continuously then it is working fine else you need to replace it.

The basic thing I tried is I have reset my BIOS settings because I have heard it is a basic problem which causes this problem. Then I have replaced my CMOS battery because I thought that if its charge is over it is not letting my computer to turn on. I have tried listening to several beep sound in order to track the exact problem which is causing. I sometimes got keyboard error so I replaced my keyboard but found that the same error is back again.

This seems something better as knowing the exact things enables us to get know the problem better. I advise you to check for all the device on your computer. You have to request your friend in order to give you his computer device so that by taking these devices you could test each and every device and then recognize the problem with the device. Also check for the cables by replacing every cable with the other one and by doing this you would be able to figure out at least some problem of your computer.

You could have a try to update your BIOS in order to verify the BIOS problem that you are thinking. So download the latest firmware which is compatible with your motherboard and then look whether same thing happening again. If still the same persists and as you are getting doubt regarding the BIOS, so in this case you won’t be able to replace the BIOS as it is a difficult job. Yes some of the chip level engineers do this, but they don’t take any guarantee for this.

I would have to say that you have done excellent job in figuring out the solution for your computer problem. You have tried all your best with the solutions given here and as well as with other one’s which you have read somewhere else. I now can advise you only for the replacement of your motherboard. As trying out several things didn’t helped you and as motherboard seems to be a heart of the computer, so might there be a problem with the same.
