Can I upgrade MSI K8N SLI Platinum for PCIE 2.1

Can K8N SLI Platinum motherboard BIOS is updated to be familiar with a PCIE 2.1 MSI R5570 graphics card. We did a BIOS update using Live Update online thing, but when we try to check if another more recent update is now for the PC is turned off and says we have to undo something overclocking! Updating the BIOS for was dated July 8 and I do not know if PCIE 2.1 was around then. Now I am assuming that there is a BIOS update for this motherboard to enable PCIE 2.1. Little concerned that the BIOS update that has done something wrong in spite of everything that is not checking for updates again seems to be working? Please help me.

I am having the same problem. What should I do to return the graphics card back, or I can upgrade the motherboard and still use all or even most of the rest of the existing elements, such as CPU and memory, or a fresh motherboard that accepts PCIE 2.1 times more or less force an update to the whole lot?. Things similar to wireless and disk drive and so on shouldn't require altering would they? Please help me to solve this issue. Thank you.

Our existing graphics card is little waste because the old TV does not permit using extremely high resolution. On the other hand, the new medium of television graphics card is at the present underperforming. So, you acquire a very superior graphics card (it's a media / home theater PC instead of PC games) that go with this motherboard or will it be appropriate to update the motherboard and possibly the CPU and memory to perform in the company of the R5570 graphics card? I hope that makes sense.

I am facing similar kind of problem. Do we include a PCIE 1.0 graphics card or be supposed to we update the motherboard? If you upgrade the motherboard CPU and memory is well-matched and we have to pay money for latest ones? I already paid money for a graphics card that was not working so we really could do with a bit of advice before spending more money. Please suggest me something what I have to on this problems. All replies are highly appreciated.

Re: Can I upgrade MSI K8N SLI Platinum for PCIE 2.1

Derived from posts in this forum, I bought Radeon HD 4770, so do not get the 5xxx series, I was anxious to get. But, however MSI K8N Platinum will not boot through 4770. Error code articulates it stops at "Testing VGA BIOS." And not in the search for potential solutions I establish the AMD forum where people complain 5xxx series of work with the nForce 4 chipset, but most of them have an easy solution - e-mail with the support of the company and receive new motherboard BIOS - Gigabyte for all users have their machines running by sending a mail and waiting a few hours. MSI I hope to answer and be as generous as competitors, otherwise it will look bad to prospective buyers.
