    Corsair h70 with 2600K idle at 3.4 GHz 42C?

I just installed the new motherboard P8p67 Intel Deluxe 2600K. I installed the H70 fridge per your instructions and then some, but no matter what, it seems that hot. 3.4 Failing approximately 42C. At 4.7 while running prime95 blend, I saw a few nuclei around 78, while others 67C. Now with the multiplier to 47 on windows (with turbo and Speed Step a), RealTemp is showing 38C idle up. But once again, putting up prime95 blend and cooking. I have read here that most are in the 20's at idle. Something is wrong, I think. I've tried everything, including removing the thermal paste that comes with the unit and go with the Arctic matrix. That didn't help at all, may have risen a degree or two. I have the bios fan control disabled. I tried the intake and exhaust modes, no matter. I replace the pump several times. I tried to connect the pump power where the CPU and vice versa, only to see no change. Now I have the pump in the feeding area of the chassis and fans into the power connector CPU fan.

I would say that a temperature of 42C at the core of the CPU at rest is normal, but 78C on load is not. Something is definitely wrong. I do not know what other advice they could give and they have already done and still no luck. I have 2600K and H70 as well. Value at 3.4 GHz gives me 24c @ idle no more than 60 @ load. OECD inactive below 70 @ [email protected] load. There is something wrong with your setup. Try to see if cold beds property and / or screws tight enough. (Also owned 3-pin connector installed). 42C at idle is not good. Even with the stock cooler this is below that.

Do you have a heater vent in the room pointing to the direction of the team? I've seen that make a big difference in my system. Also in support of H70. Do not crank it down as a steel worker. Such restrictions are not necessary and may cause alignment errors. I'm running and all major [email protected] temperatures are 26c - 27c. I would say you have it backwards. With H70, temps minimum value must be in the 28 – 32 degree C with normal ambient temperatures.

24C idle is that the operating system? As with RealTemp i notice in my reading is 29C (but is doing speedstep / Lo turbo, going to 1600 MHz at rest). This is an adjustment of 3.4 GHz is the 4.7 I started with. As for my own will, the room is about 22 º C (room temperature or slightly below). Nothing said that as far as heat goes. I know the pump is running, as if I pull the plug, climbs high in 60 seconds (idle in the BIOS). I have fans in the head of pin CPU and pump in a header pin chassis fan. The fans are at about 2,000 rpm the pump is 1400. I have tried to reverse this for fun this leads to noise levels much more tolerable and no change in temp. I can keep the back or using strips of resistance to lower the rpm nobody knows what runs when used in the resistance bands? I should add that in reality, the BIOS reads 50C idle, when in the bios, in the full OC 4.7 and 1.4 volts.

Yeah they are on the bottom as of now. Without resistors in place. Was thinking of maybe getting the gentle typhoons 1850 rpm fans to help with noise but maintain cfm etc. I think my application of arctic matrix (mx4 I think) may have been botched, too much etc. after my torture tests are done I’m going to remove with alcohol and reapply using the thin grain size line down the middle technique, though that takes 200 hours to fully cure. With your load in 60's, is that prime95 blend? With an ambient of say 22C, my prime95 16 hours later is around 77-80C (4.8 GHz stable so far at 1.38 or so).
