Should I buy Phenom X6 1090Tor i5 760 for gaming and DVD burning usage

I am looking forward to build a system I am looking at building a new system parallel to and was thinking a whether I should prefer with the i5 760 or the Phenom X6 1090T. Although the cost of the motherboard and CPU is almost same. I plan to overclock my system as well , but not that much still was looking for a midrange air cooler. So...what do you think I should prefer if say I will be using the system for gaming and a little of off track work such as burning and ripping DVDs and CDs, listen a little bit of music work. Please give your suggestion with valid justification.

As far as Phenom processor CPUs are concerned are very fine very good Overclockers, most CPUS are pretty much that have this processor are maxed out. Although i7 processor are also good overclockers but not that good as Phenom processor . Now the i5-750 (not the 760) is a good OCer, I have heard of them getting around 3.8GHz on them. If talked about the benching Phenom has 6058 and intel has 4553. I know that intel is a well known maker , but AMD is more powerful.

Well if you ask me i5 750 will make a better gaming CPU and will give you better performance Think of it like this, the 1090T Thuban is basically the same performance as the 955 Deneb but with two extra cores. If you put out of action two cores in the 1090T Thuban and work it against the 955 Deneb, they'll be almost on equivalent with each other So, since the i5 750 works well than the 955 Deneb in gaming and there are not many (if at all) games that take achieve the benefit of 5th and 6th core, so that is why I would ask you to go for a intel one.

Well if you said that you will be overclocking the processor , but you were not sure that you will do it in future, if you are then you should go for the phenom processor or else go for the i5 core processor . I am suggesting you this because AMD processor will generate a lot of heat after a bit of usage and then you will require a cooler to cool it. That is where intel overcomes an AMD processor.
